Traditional desserts in Algarve

Algarve is considered as a paradise not only because of the good weather, beautiful landscape bust as its food and wines too. If the sweet lovers can stand cool after they saw the laden with different dishes tables they will certainly not stand to the deserts. It is like the devil its own is creating all that temptations to torture them. Melting in your mouth, leaving a sweet taste on your lips and ready to explode your senses the dessert creations are incredible. Main ingredients are almonds, chocolate and fig combined on the most unique way inviting you to taste them. Portugees developed its sweet making industry by the time the territory was under Moorish governance and turn it to another mark of the all areas on the country's lands.

A lot of the ancient Portugal  recipes were mixed with the Moorish that created the whole colorful rainbow of amazing looking and tasking deserts. It is not possible all the types to be ranked which is better or which is not as the variety is pretty large. Emblematic are the Don Rodrigo, the Ovos Moles, Gia and the Portuguese Salami. Name of the last one is very confusing but don't get it wrong it has nothing to do with the real salami- containing the chocolate and smashed cookies twisted in folio. When it comes the time to ve served it is cut the same way as the normal salami made by meat. All Algarve hotels are offering this to its guests , you can find it in the restaurants, little cafes on the charming palavering streets or even in the lobby of your Algarve hotel. Perfect addition to your morning or afternoon coffee will give the feeling that little things are making the sense of life.
