FIESA in Algarve

For the people who are not very familiar with the abbreviations FIESA is actually International Sand Sclupture festival. This is one of the most interesting events in Algarve during the summer and another reason to attract more visitors to Algarve hotels. Usually it is held  in May continuing till October. It started in 2003 as big exhibition of sand sculptures which gain a huge success so the tradition was continued by now turning the fest into one of the most unique things on the Iberian. Each year the fest has different topic as the topic for this year exhibition is the Living world, nature, the flora and fauna.

The most astonishing is the size of the figures and the area which it is covering. More over there is a different daily program including: Free sands sculpture activities, Live music show, special days, street art days, kids days among with the parents day etc. The most amazing about the exhibition is when the sun sets and a special light are lighting the sand figures. Its like the figures go alive with the shadows turning all this into a magic fairytale accompanied with the live music performances. In case you have the chance to stay in some of the Algarve hotels near the place where the figures are build you will also have the ability to enjoy the view from the window of your hotel room.
