Exchanging Money In Venice

Going on a trip where ever it be in the world it is obligated for you before leaving to check the currency of the country as well as the exchange rate. Other pretty important thing is to have certain amount already exchanged in a local money just before arriving there. The only purpose for this is that locals may not accept any other currency except their own which automatically mean that you can be stuck on the airport or train station as you won be able to pay for a taxi.

As Italy is a part from the European union this means that official currency of the county is Euro and Venice does not make an exception. Of course money can be exchanged right after you arrival in the banks, Venice hotels, exchange offices. ect.  Unfortunately the case of tourist became victims of scams are not rare at all mostly because the exchange rate is no published correctly or due to a hidden commissions that wasn't announced. Even almost every Venice hotel is not announcing the amounts of those commissions leaving their visitors with the unpleasant feeling that they lost money. Assuming from all this best choice is just to redraw money directly from the local ATMs and in this way you will have the exchange rate of the bank without any additional charges. More over that ATMS does not have working hours which will allow you to have access to your money 24/7. Never exchange money on the street even someone is offering you extremely high exchange rate as the same person can give either fake money, either run away with yours once you gave it to him. One is for sure when its comes to exchange money no matter where in the world you are located you should always be very careful.
