Tower of London


Every year London hotels are visited by more than million tourists from all around the world. Those crowds of travelers are attracted by the London's unique lifestyle and the numerous worldwide famous tourist attractions placed there. However, if you are planning to visit London, you need to be sure that everything you have planed for your vacation there, will happen. On one hand, you need to find the best way of accommodation for your purposes. For instance, you could gather some information about different hotels in Mayfair or accommodations placed in other reputed London neighborhoods. On the other, you need to be informed about different landmarks and iconic places which you must visit when you are in the city. For instance, Tower of London is one of the iconic symbols of the city and also one of the most visited London attractions.

Tower of London or also known as “Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress” is iconic symbol of London, situated on the northern side of the River Themes. That ancient castle was built in the middle years of the 11th century and it is named to the White Tower, that was built in 1078 by William the Conqueror as a symbol of great power and dominance. The original fortress was nothing more than a wooden building but years later it was expanded into an impressive building with about 20 towers. The Tower of London was used as a place for tortures and political murders. It was also a home of several royal families. However, today the Tower of London is worldwide famous for its Crown Jewels and the Jewel House where are housed the royal treasures.
 
So, the Tower of London is one of the landmarks you must visit during your vacation in the city. Furthermore, that magnificent place will take your breath away with its impressive appearance, fascinating history and unique ancient atmosphere.

The Tower of London is a great place to visit, the place itself is amazing and in the surroundings you'll find other interesting places -i.e Tower bridge http://www.towerbridge.org.uk/, some attractions like the London Dungeon http://www.the-dungeons.co.uk/london/en/ and good restaurants and pubs. I'd also recommend the Queen's Walk
