The south Portugal region Algerve was considered as one of the most attractive tourist destination around the Europe. Visited from thousand of tourists every year it turned into one of the main directions that country is trying to stimulate. More over that the tourist sector next to one of the main generators of country's GDP. The results are showing a fall in the income from the sector in the last few years and the government is reconsidering the idea of the new strategy that should stimulate the Algarve tourist sector. Except the lower prices for the long stay packages that almost all of the Algarve hotels are offering even in the pick of the seasons the idea of focusing also to the short term tourism is gaining more popularity.
