Piccadilly Circus - London


London is such amazing place that gives to its visitors huge variety of possibilities, for different purposes. Some people go there to find the key for their success. Piccadilly Circus is busy road junction and meeting area that connects Regent street with the main shopping Piccadilly street. It is built in 1819, named on the Latin word “circus”, which means “circle”. Nowadays, it is one of the iconic symbols of London, visited by millions of people annually. It is situated near the major shopping and entertainment locations in the West End and is famous with its video display, neon signs and numerous billboards. Some attractions you could visit there, are the Shaftesbury memorial fountain, the statue of Eros or also known as the Angel of Christian Charity, London Pavilion and Criterion Theatre. The Shaftesbury memorial fountain was built in 1893 in honor of Lord Shaftesbury, a great humanist famous for his charity. On the top of that fountain made of bronze there is a statue named on the Greek god of love and beauty, Eros.
