If you ever visit Vienna you will find some of her buildings jaw-droopingly stunning. They are old, steeped in history and maintained to the highest level. What is more, one of the buildings might in fact be the hotel you are staying in.
You know you are onto a good bargain when the hotel you have just booked into has as much to see on the inside and appreciate as the city itself. Okay that is clearly an exaggeration, but hopefully you get my point. When in Austria don’t be shy to click away with your camera at every inch of your hotel - every nook and cranny. Some of the hotels in Vienna are that fascinating. ...And don’t worry; the Viennese will not bat an eye-lid at your trigger-happy frenzy; they are proud of their heritage and almost expect you to be in awe. The service in the hotels too will be close to impeccable. Everything will be immaculate and arranged or decorated to exquisite taste.
The Hilton Vienna hotel for instance is one such building that will stop you in your tracks should you visit it. If you are staying in it, you will no doubt end up wanting to enjoy what the hotel has to offer as much as you had planned to enjoy the rest of city – not a bad dilemma to have on holiday.
The outside of the Hilton Hotel in Vienna resembles the top end of Regents Street in London - the solid and majestic never-ending ivory buildings that skirts at one end of the royal park.
Unfortunately however the London equivalent is not as majestic in detail and does not have the wonderful sculpture that rises out of the huge man-made pond at the centre of its grounds.
Hilton Hotel Vienna is definitely a worthwhile stopover, but there are other impressive places to stay. Look up Hotel Vienna Danube if you want to get some idea of the general quality of some of the top hotels.
